Technical description and design features

A screw-in wood insert is a metal threaded bushing with an external wood thread and an internal metric thread, installed directly into a pre-drilled hole in the wood.
The long version is characterized by an unthreaded pilot section at the front, which improves alignment during installation and allows for deeper and more stable anchoring in the base material.

This long wood insert with CE 1034 marking is available with internal threads ranging from M6 to M16. It is primarily intended for use in wood, but can also be applied transversely in sandwich panels or embedded or bonded into concrete, depending on the design requirements.
Available lengths range from 25 mm up to 100 mm, allowing precise adaptation to different load and construction scenarios.

Thanks to the internal hexagon, the insert can be easily removed if required, facilitating disassembly, reuse, or recycling of the wooden component.

These inserts are assessed according to ETA 12/0481 (European Technical Assessment) for use in timber construction. This certification provides assurance regarding load-bearing capacity, installation conditions, and long-term reliability, making the product suitable for professional and regulated building applications.

Application example: fixing metal balustrades to wooden structures

Metal balustrades can be securely and efficiently mounted onto a wooden structure using screw-in inserts with internal threads M10, M12 or M16. Installation requires only pre-drilling followed by screwing in the insert using the internal hexagon drive.

Please, pay attention to the usable innerthreadlength, since the insert is closed!

It is recommended to consult the balustrade or system supplier to determine the appropriate insert size based on the expected structural loads.
When selecting the bolt length, please note that approximately the first 4 mm of the insert does not contain internal thread due to the hexagon drive section. This non-threaded zone must be taken into account to ensure sufficient thread engagement and optimal clamping force.
