This Deform-Nut® 10445 is a closed end hexagonal rivet nut reduced head, available in zinc-plated steel or stainless steel 304, and suitable for internal threads M3, M4, M5, M6, M8, and M10 for sheet thicknesses from 0.5 to 6.0 mm.

What is a blind rivet nut?

A blind rivet nut is a metal threaded insert with a flange that provides strong internal threads in very thin sheet material. The blind rivet nut is deformed using a manual tool, an electric rivet nut gun, or a pneumatic rivet nut gun by pulling the internal thread back against the flange after the nut has been placed into the pre-drilled hole in the sheet.

Once the blind rivet nut has been riveted, the threaded mandrel of the tool is unscrewed. In this way, an internal thread can be created “blindly” in thin sheet – in other words, without needing access to both sides of the sheet. This also makes it an ideal solution for tubes and profiles.

Description

The closed-end hexagonal blind rivet nut with small countersunk head, type Deform-Nut® 10445, is available in zinc-plated steel and stainless steel 304, and suitable for sheet thicknesses from 0.5 mm up to 6.0 mm.

By punching the external hex shape into the sheet, a closed-end hexagonal blind rivet nut with a small countersunk head can offer better resistance to rotation than cylindrical blind rivet nuts.
